BRS Offroad Pursuit 2020 Limited

Luxury hybrid manufacturer BRS Offroad has released a sneak peak of its new range topping Pursuit 2020 Limited. And we like it (a lot)!

Despite being released in 2015, the BRS Offroad Pursuit Platinum gained mainstream exposure in 2018, butting heads with industry stalwarts in the Camper Trailer of the Year Awards. And while it didn’t pick up top honours on that occasion, it made a lot of people stand up and take notice, including us!

For some people, it’s not love at first sight, at least on the brochure, with its unusual exterior shape. But in the flesh, it really pops, exuding quality and class from every dimension.

Arguably, its greatest appeal is a toss up between the clear coat Australian hardwood benchtop and the Stargazer window above the bed. Then there’s the unique en-suite which extends to the side, so not to add to its travelling length.

Australian hardwood benchtop is still hard to beat

New for 2019, at least in the final quarter, and joining the Pursuit Platinum, is the range topping Pursuit 2020 Limited.

Based on the Platinum specification, it adds a distinctive light grey Raptor stone protection to the top cone, 400Ah Enerdrive Lithium battery and management system, new external Isotherm dual drawer 85L fridge, premium upholstery, 24-inch Smart TV, a chice of two external kitchens, custom BRS Offroad Seadek marine foam in the storage bays and more.

Removable sacrificial stone guards protect the front. Jerry cans are now secured inside the box with the gas bottles.

Front opening window with insect mesh and privacy blind is one of the key attractions

The front storage box has been reshaped with more exposed drawbar; better for those tow vehicles such as Pajero and Prado with the bigger rear door.

The new external Isotherm fridge is mounted to the storage compartment floor and frees up more storage room behind, unlike its Platinum sibling with extending slides. The dual drawer design helps with packing and provides easier access than a larger portable fridge.

Wood storage on both sides of the spare

The power management system has been upsized with an Enerdrive 400Ah Lithium battery and management system. The solar panels have also gained capacity with 360W on tap. The chargers and inverter remain the same with a 60A 240V charger, 1600W inverter and 40A DC DC/Solar Charger – more than ample. Optional upgrades are available for those seeking even greater capacity.

Inside, the look and feel has upped a notch or two with upgraded components. JL audio speakers add next level sound for audiofiles and the 24” Smart TV adds to the cinema experience. Paired with the Cel Fi-Go Data antenna it’s much easier to download Netflix on the go.

A Truma iNet system with smart phone app now controls both heating and cooling.

New Simarine digital management can monitor a range of new inputs such as the fridge temperature

Simarine Digital Monitoring System is wireless and has been programmed to monitor water, battery state of charge/remaining charge, the breakaway controller, internal and external fridge temperatures, and DC DC input. There’s also a barometer and cabin temperature monitor. Being wireless you can monitor these variables from inside your vehicle or around camp. Cool, eh?

New doors fold up revealing the Isotherm two drawer fridge and small footprint food prep area

Interior finishes are still class leading with a choice of Australian hardwood timber bench or laminate.

There’s plenty to like, including the new skygazer tinted front window with insect mesh, which opens to increase air flow.

Production of the new Pursuit Limited 2020 has already begun. It is offered at a $9,267 premium over the Platinum at $111,595* with a limited 20 unit production run. Going by the current inquiry level, it’s expected to sell out.
