Trakmaster acquires Pioneer Campers

If you missed the recent announcement, Trakmaster Off Road Caravans snapped up Pioneer Campers during May. Trakmaster specialises in Australian-made off road caravans ranging in size from 13-22ft. They have been manufacturing a range of pop top and full height off road vans since 1995.

For prospective and existing owners this is a great outcome. While Atco Pickering did a great job developing the Gen II hard floor and later the Mitchell/Wilpena hybrid, the Trakmaster connection will ensure a tighter focus with their RV industry only interests.

Pioneer Campers will continue to be built in Victoria with parts manufactured in Ararat. Assembly will take place at Trakmaster’s 4,790m2 Bayswater facility.

Staff from Pioneer have transferred to the new company, bringing a skilled workforce to hit the ground running.

As Trakmaster currently sells direct to the public, we won’t see the Trakmaster brand in our showroom in the short term. But we do have some other exciting arrivals with three new Australian-made hybrids. See here for all the details.
