Add-Ons We Visually Check (Every Service)

These aren’t always “items” — but they are peace of mind:

  • Obvious chassis damage or fatigue
  • Loose plumbing lines or hoses under body
  • Battery mounts and cabling
  • Suspension integrity
  • Excessive tyre wear or misalignment
  • Water tank security
  • Gas line condition (visual)
  • Anything that “just doesn’t look right”

If we see an issue — we tell you. Simple as that.

Why Regular Servicing Matters

Servicing your camper trailer or caravan isn’t just about ticking boxes.
It’s about protecting your lifestyle, your investment, and your safety — especially when you travel off the beaten track.

A professional service helps:

  • Prevent failures in remote areas
Something small at home can become a trip-ending issue hundreds of kilometres from help. Regular servicing catches problems early.
  • Protect your investment
Your camper is a significant purchase. Proper servicing reduces premature wear and avoids expensive repairs later.
  • Ensure safety on long trips
Brakes, bearings, suspension and couplings aren’t optional — they’re critical safety systems.
  • Maintain resale value
A documented service history gives buyers confidence and keeps your camper worth more when it’s time to upgrade.
  • Maximise performance and reliability
A well-maintained setup tows better, tracks straighter, brakes cleaner and copes with corrugations properly.

If you rely on your camper, it must be looked after properly.
This isn’t about convenience — it’s about confidence when you’re kilometres from anywhere.

Why We Replace Wheel Bearings (Not Just “Check” Them)

Wheel bearings in camper trailers and caravans work very differently to those in your tow vehicle.

Unlike modern cars that use sealed, long-life bearings, most campers and caravans run serviceable tapered bearings that:

  • Carry higher loads
  • Operate under constant side load
  • Heat up for longer periods
  • Are exposed to water, dust and mud
  • Take a pounding on corrugations and off-road tracks

Repacking old bearings might appear cheaper — but once a bearing has heat stress, contamination or surface wear, failure is only a matter of time.

That’s why we:

  • Strip hubs completely
  • Remove all bearings
  • Replace with new quality Japanese bearings
  • Install new seals
  • Reassemble with fresh high-grade grease
  • Reset tolerances correctly

This isn’t over-servicing.
It’s the difference between reliability and recovery.

A failed bearing can result in:

  • Destroyed hubs
  • Burnt spindles
  • Fire risk
  • Wheel loss
  • Trip-ending delays
  • Expensive roadside repairs
  • Accident

Replacing bearings during scheduled servicing costs a fraction of what it does when one fails in the bush.

A Note on Carrying Spare Bearings When Touring

If you plan to carry spare bearings while travelling, we do not recommend using old bearings as spares.
While they may work in an emergency, worn bearings are unpredictable and often lead to further damage — which usually costs far more in the long run.

Carrying new bearings as spares is cheaper, safer and far more reliable than relying on components that are already fatigued.
