Track T4 Hybrid

The Track T4 hybrid has arrived at The Dirt Off Road Campers!

Replacing the Topaz, the award-winning T4 hybrid is offered in three key models: the Symphony, the Concerto and the Rhapsody with internal ensuite.

Anita and I owned the predecessor to the T4, a Topaz Murranji, which we travelled around Australia in, on an outback 13 month odyssey. It was comfortable, compact and rugged, exactly what you need for extended travels, so we were keen to see what the new model brought to the table. And after looking at the 3 available models, we chose the Rhapsody for our store, being the only model offering an internal ensuite.

The thing that strikes you immediately is the new windows, providing an almost uninterrupted panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. The T4 is longer than the Topaz, giving rise to three unique layouts.

Large windows bring the outside in

Layouts

The Symphony is the closest to the outgoing Topaz with an east west bed, lounge seating area, internal kitchen and a pop-up external shower pod. The pop-top roof is carried forward, to reduce weight and maintain an aerodynamic profile behind the tow vehicle.

The Symphony is all about the internal kitchen

The family-oriented Concerto replaces the internal kitchen with bunks. There’s still a sink, food prep area and fridge, but the cooking has moved outside.

Family friendly Concerto yields internal cooking for extra bedding

That leaves the Rhapsody which scores a north south bed, lounge and table, internal kitchen and the piece de-resistance, the internal ensuite.

A range of options are available on each model to customise a build to your requirements.

Fit Out

The interior fit-out is a good mix of premium finishes and neutral colours. The bright red banding above the windows is optional. Our stock Rhapsody is white.

With greater interior space than its Topaz predecessor, you feel more at home. There’s generous kitchen storage, new energy efficient 130L Webasto Isotherm fridge/freezer, pop up pantry, 4 burner cooker with grill, rangehood with external venting, and internal sink.

A First Edition Pack will be fitted initially to all orders. While it does add additional cost, the items add functionality across the board. Some of these things include an increase in water storage, power upgrades, the Hideaway dining table which folds under the bed, zero gravity blinds and an App (phone) controlled automation of the automatic roof, electric awning and central locking of internal drawers prior to travel.

Development

Like each Track Trailer model, the T4 hybrid has undergone significant development and testing. Watch the video below, viewing the T4 as is floats over the aggressive ripple strips at the Anglesea Proving Ground. While the tow vehicle is pitched off track, the T4 massages the lumps and bumps in a controlled manner.

Testing covers speed loops, off road travel, and water submersion.
Supplementing the controlled environment testing, the T4 has undergone outback testing. Industry stalwart Ron Moon accompanied Track on one of these outings completing a trip along the Anne Beadell Highway (highway in name only), west of Coober Pedy and into the remote outback of South Australia. You can view some of the footage HERE, courtesy of Moon Tours.

There’s a lot more to the Track T4 hybrid than meets the eye. The deeper you delve, the better it gets. Take the Good Design Award for example, where Track proved they had advanced the design profession and pushed the boundaries of new and innovative thinking.
