The Dirt Off Road Campers picked up the BRONZE medal in the recent 2021 South Australian Tourism Awards in Retail & Hire Services; the first for a Recreational Vehicle (RV) Retailer.
“We’re thrilled to receive the award considering the calibre of nominees,” said co-owner Anita Pavey.
“Our 8,000-word submission detailed how we stand out in our segment through business development, marketing, and the customer experience,” she added.
The awards are judged by a panel of Tourism and Business Industry Experts.
Led by owner-operators Anita and Mike Pavey, The Dirt Off Road Campers contribute to the Tourism industry, through recreational vehicle sales, authoring travel and four wheel drive content for local newspapers and national caravan magazines, hosting a community radio touring show, website blogs and social media.
“We even put together a touring itinerary including neighbouring award-winning businesses and places of interest for local and regional customers, to make the most of a visit to our store,” Mike said.
As a small, specialist off road hybrid camper retailer, the team at The Dirt Off Road Campers are keen off road enthusiasts. Collectively they’ve ventured all over Australia and overland around the world in off road vehicles ranging from two to six wheels. Other team members include sales specialists Damien and Toby, and Mark from their RV Service Workshop.
Capping off a great year, The Dirt Off Road Campers also made the Finalists in the Ricoh Customer Service category of the South Australian Community Achievement Awards.
This adds to the accolade of winning Dealer/Retailer of the Year (Silver Billy) from the Caravan and Camping Industry Association of South Australian (CCIASA) for the last two years running.
“It’s humbling to receive these awards,” said Mike.
“Following our big lap of Australia in 2011, after spending 13 months ticking off our bucket list in a four-wheel drive and hybrid off road van, our goal was to help others set themselves up to do the same,” he added.
The Dirt Off Road Campers has tried several different camper brands over the last 8 years, but has recently rationalised their range to two industry leading Australian manufacturers, with over 20 years’ experience each – Track Trailer and Lifestyle Campers. Both have a national dealer network to best support the customer base.
